Training Course on  ‘Disaster and Prehospital Emergency Medicine’ in Djibouti and Chad

SESRIC, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey, the Federal Ministry of Health of Republic of Sudan, and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) jointly will organise a training course on “Disaster and Prehospital Emergency Medicine” on 25 February-1 March 2019 in Djibouti and Chad.

 

Two groups of 30 health workers from the Ministries of Health of Djibouti and Chad will benefit from this training.

The training courses will be organised within the framework of the project on “Strengthening Coordination and Capacity Building on Preparedness and Response for Health Emergencies in the OIC Member States” and carried out by Sudanese and Turkish trainers.

The trainings are part of a project between SESRIC, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey, TIKA and the Federal Ministry of Health of the Republic of Sudan, carried out within the framework of the Strategic Health Programme of Action (SHPA) 2014-2023, under “Thematic Area 5 on Emergency Health Response and Interventions”. The aim of the project is to strengthen coordination and capacity building of the OIC countries in preparedness and response to health emergencies.

Within this framework, the first phase of the project that includes training of trainers in both Sudan and Turkey as well as three pilot training courses carried out by Sudanese trainers under the supervision of Turkish specialists has been successfully implemented.
